Liu Dachuan

Prof. Liu has nearly 40 years of clinical experience and specializes in the application of minimally invasive high-speed vitrectomy for complex retinal detachments due to giant or multiple retinal tears, as well as for proliferative diabetic retinopathy. He employs advanced techniques such as internal limiting membrane (ILM) covering and ILM plugging for large macular holes, and performs foveasparing ILM peeling for macular schisis and refractory macular edema. A pioneer in China, he firstly performed combined phacoemulsification and vitrectomy surgery and has completed over 10,000 cataract and vitreoretinal procedures.
